April 6 2002, Saturday, 1pm, 3pm and 7pm"LONDON INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION" FEATURES CLASSICAL MUSIC, WITH JURY MEMBERS FROM BELGIUM, CANADA, CYPRUS, ETCThree sessions make up the first day of the first stage of the fifth London International Piano Competition, which will culminate in a final - some ten days later, at the Royal Festival Hall. Today, three pianists will perform for each of the two afternoon sessions, whilst six pianists will compete in the evening session. All in all, the festival will allow 24 pianists to perform twice, in front of an impressive jury that includes Sergy Dorny from Belgium, David Murray from Canada and Martino Tirimo from Cyprus.
Tickets are £3 for afternoon sessions, £5 for the evening session and £9 for an all day pass. All tickets are available on the door, on the day. Should you wish to attend the Grand Final and all fifteen sessions, there is a Platinum pass available for £80.
