Weavings of The Atlas" is the title of an exhibition that is due to finish
today. It features about 40 carpets from Morocco, which are up to 80 years old.
Initially, each would have been individually handmade and used as dowries for
the Berbers, in and around the north and south Atlas Mountains. They are on sale
at around the £1,200 to £2,000 mark, with some at £5,000.
The carpets feature some
basic designs - mainly dashes and straight and/or zigzagged lines. Admission
