LAST DAY TO SEE CORNWALL-BASED GALLERY'S, "ITALY LUCE E COLORE" EXHIBITION, FEATURING WORKS BY THREE ARTISTS: JOHN DYER; HIS OXFORDSHIRE-BORN WIFE, JOANNE SHORT & HIS GLOUCESTERSHIRE-BORN FATHER, TED DYER - ALL ALONGSIDE TWO CERAMIC SCULPTORS: STYLES & HERTFORDSHIRE-BORN, JACKSON, AT GALLERY 27

The Cornish, Falmouth-based gallery "Beside The Wave" are back in London's Cork Street with a colourful late-night-opening exhibition, which takes an in-depth look at Italian scenery - animals, buildings, flowers, trees, etc. The exhibition, called "Italy Luce E Colore" (Italy, Light & Colour), features scenes of Assisi, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Vitaleta, etc. Artist, John Dyer, in his mid-thirties and a fellow of The Royal Geographic Society, is showing 28 paintings ranging in price from £425, a dozen at £1,950 (at least three of which have already been sold) up to the acrylic, "Star Light over San Gimignano", which is priced at £4,950. John's wife, Oxford-born Joanne Short's two-dozen works range in price from £225, with quite a few - mostly already sold - at £295 to several at £625. John's father, Bristol-born Ted Dyer - who we chatted to at the exhibition's opening, has the largest number of pictures on show. We counted forty-two in total, ranging from £750 to £4,950, though the nearly half of his works on show are priced at £795. One of our favourites is his full-of-depth oil on canvas, "Church on the Hill, Vitaleta. Skylarks singing," priced at £4,750.

Linda Styles - who not long ago was commissioned to do a range of breakfast tableware for Sir Terence's "Conran Shop" - has a selection of flowery "dishes" and "jugs" while Paul Northmore Jackson - born in Bishop's Stortford in 1954 and fellow of the Craftsmen and Potters Association for the last five years - has a display of terracotta pots revealing, 'nude and autobiographical themes.' So, to enjoy three distinctive interpretations of the scenery of places likes Perugia, Tuscany & Umbria there is no need for a plane journey, just slip up to Mayfair's Cork Street in a bus or tube. But be quick, as - like our good summer weather - the spectacle ends at 8pm on Friday! Telephone 07813 130074 (during the exhibition), 01326 211132 (Beside The Wave Gallery's telephone number in Cornwall) or e-mail... for more information, if required. Location: "Gallery 27", Cork Street, London, W1. Tube station: Green Park (Jubilee, Piccadilly and Victoria lines).
