January 15 2005, Saturday, 11am-5pmLAST DAY TO SEE PAINTINGS BY THREE GEORGIAN ARTISTS: CHOGOSHVILI; GIUNASHVILI & SHIOSHVILIOne of the first
exhibitions we visited in London, after the Christmas holiday period,
was one dedicated to three Georgian artists, Levan Chogoshvili, Davit
Giunashvili and Zakaria Shioshvikli. Each has produced a series of
paintings that fill the ground-floor level of the Dover Street-based
gallery. And each was present for the official opening and private view,
which we attended on Monday last. Like in any group show, there is
plenty of art to view! Works of note are (i) a tempera on paper work –
painted in 1986, from the series, "The Destruction of The Georgian
Aristocracy" and (ii) the more recent 2003 painting, "The Baptism of
Jesus" (tempera on paper, 135cm x 127cm). Go along to see them, and
whilst you are there you can see the other equally-fine works on show.
But do hurry, as today is the exhibition’s last day.
If you are
unable to get along you can find photographs - taken by Italian
photographer, Nadia Attura - of the artists’ works on the website,
designed by 2Mambo Design. Promote YOUR event, £11.75 or free! | Return to January 2005 ArchivesSubscribe, hteL GOLD, £4 month/£47 year (or free, if you become a HowToEnjoy.BIZ reseller) |
